Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with former trainer his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set triumph over challenger Moutet.

"This victory is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the first title I won when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, including in that event previously this season.

However the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an better serving game.
The champion came back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players traded service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first tour title, seized the initiative to create a third set.
Moutet saved 4 initial opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the Russian broke to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, he earned victory with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
